VerCom Systems (“VerCom,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers SMS and MMS messaging services using registered 10-digit long code (10DLC) numbers.
This 10DLC Messaging Privacy & Terms document supplements our main Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and governs the collection, use, and disclosure of information, as well as the conditions of participation in any VerCom messaging campaign.

By enrolling in or using VerCom’s messaging services, you agree to this 10DLC Messaging Privacy & Terms document and to our main Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, which are incorporated by reference.


1. Definitions

  • Messaging Services – SMS or MMS text messages sent to or from VerCom 10DLC numbers.
  • 10DLC – A 10-digit long code telephone number registered for application-to-person messaging under carrier and industry rules.
  • Subscriber / Recipient – Any person who provides a mobile number and affirmatively consents to receive messages from VerCom.
  • Message Metadata – Information about a message such as timestamp, routing, delivery status, and error codes, but not the message content itself.

2. Information We Collect

When you enroll in or use our Messaging Services, we collect:

  • Contact Information – Mobile phone number and any information needed to confirm your identity and consent.
  • Messaging Data – Message content (if retained), Message Metadata (timestamps, delivery receipts, failure codes, routing), and opt-in/opt-out status.
  • Other Information – As described in our main Privacy Policy (e.g., device identifiers, IP address, geolocation where permitted).

3. How We Use Messaging Data

We use this information to:

  • Deliver messages, process opt-ins/opt-outs, and manage retries or errors.
  • Verify and maintain records of consent as required by law and carriers.
  • Analyze campaign performance (delivery, engagement, and compliance).
  • Detect and prevent spam, fraud, and unauthorized use.
  • Fulfill legal, regulatory, and carrier audit obligations.

  • Opt-In – We only send promotional or informational messages if you explicitly consent (e.g., by signing up on our site, checking a consent box, or texting a keyword to a VerCom number).
  • Opt-Out – You may stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP (or other instructions provided). We will send a confirmation of your opt-out.
  • Re-Opt-In – To resume messaging, you must re-subscribe and give new consent.
  • Message and Data Rates – Your carrier’s standard rates may apply.

5. Data Sharing

To provide Messaging Services and meet carrier or regulatory requirements, we may share your phone number, Message Metadata, and campaign details with the following categories of recipients:

  • Carriers and messaging providers – to enable message routing and delivery and to satisfy carrier registration and audit requirements for 10DLC campaigns.
  • Regulatory and auditing bodies – when required by applicable telecommunications law, industry guidelines (e.g., CTIA), or carrier rules.
  • Service providers – vendors that support messaging infrastructure (such as hosting, delivery platforms, or analytics) under contracts requiring confidentiality and strong data-security protections.
  • Legal / government requests – when we are required by law or must respond to a valid legal request, such as a subpoena, court order, or government demand.

We do not sell Contact Information, Messaging Data, or Other Information.

6. Retention & Deletion

  • Message Metadata – Retained indefinitely, until the contact/conversation is removed, at which time the data is deleted.
  • Message Content (if stored) – Retained indefinitely, until the contact/conversation is removed, at which time the data is deleted.
  • Opt-In/Opt-Out Records – Retained indefinitely, until the contact/conversation is removed, at which time the data is deleted, and the client would need to Opt-in again to resume communications.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., CCPA, GDPR), you may have rights to:

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.


9. Acceptable Use & Compliance

You agree that you will not:

  • Send unsolicited or unlawful content.
  • Misrepresent your identity or the purpose of your messages.
  • Violate any applicable law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM, or CTIA messaging guidelines.

We reserve the right to audit messaging campaigns and opt-in records, and may suspend or terminate Messaging Services if we detect or reasonably suspect non-compliance or abuse.
We may also be required to share audit results with carriers or regulators if necessary to demonstrate compliance.


10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • We cannot guarantee delivery of every message; carriers may block, delay, or discard messages for reasons beyond our control.
  • VerCom is not liable for any losses, damages, or costs resulting from undelivered or delayed messages, or from carrier/network outages or filtering.
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VerCom for any fines, damages, or claims arising from your misuse of Messaging Services or violation of telecom laws, carrier rules, or these Terms.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, VerCom disclaims all warranties, express or implied, related to the delivery or timeliness of Messaging Services.

11. International Transfers

Messaging Data may be stored or processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
By using our Messaging Services, you consent to such transfers.


12. Changes to this 10DLC Messaging Privacy & Terms

We may update this document from time to time.
If material changes occur, we will post a revised version with a new effective date.
Continued use of Messaging Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
